I am a former art teacher whose desire to make the world a kinder place for animals led me to the Center for Animal Law Studies at Lewis & Clark Law School. In 2024 I graduated with a JD and a Certificate in Animal Law and became a member of the Oregon State Bar. As a student I served as the Editor in Chief of the Animal Law Review to publish Issues 1 & 2 of Volume 30, worked for ALDF's Legislative Affairs Program, Animal Welfare Institute’s Government Affairs Program, Humane Voters of Oregon, published a children’s book entitled “One Bad Day” about the morality of treating animals as food, and clerked for Professors Joyce Tischler and Kathy Hessler, assisting with research on aquatic animals and industrial animal agriculture. I live in Washington, DC with my husband and our two cats, RZA and Chef.
