I am a former art teacher whose desire to make the world a kinder place for animals led me to the Center for Animal Law Studies at Lewis & Clark Law School. I am a 3L JD student, currently externing with ALDF’s Legislative Affairs Program and serving as the Editor in Chief of the Animal Law Review. I previously interned with the Animal Welfare Institute’s Government Affairs Program in Washington, D.C., volunteered for the Humane Voters of Oregon, published a children’s book entitled “One Bad Day” about the morality of treating animals as food, and clerked for Professors Joyce Tischler and Kathy Hessler, assisting with research for their upcoming animal legal textbooks. I live in Portland, Oregon with my husband and our two rescue cats, RZA and Chef.
